I did some new art of some of our characters in celebration of Issue 2! They’ve been added to the site banner rotation and you’ll get a random one each time you reload the homepage. There’ll be more to come soon.
And with that, Issue 1 comes to a close. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed working on it!
As stated in the previous update, we’ll be taking next week off to finalize Issue 2 and get it uploaded to the website and ready for launch when we return on November 17. Mark your calendars, because we’ll be back in 2 weeks with more Electric Fencer, with new characters, more intrigue, and more adventure coming your way.
A lot’s happened over the last few weeks and so I decided to treat myself to a little Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Great stuff, except for the part where Patrick Bowser-cided me three times in a row and won.
So Issue 1 is coming to a close very soon, and with that, rather than the usual two pages, we have three pages going up next week. I really liked the color job I did on these pages, so here’s hoping you like them too when they go up.
Following that, the comic will take off for a week to finalize the edits on Issue 2 and prepare the cover. Additionally, while the pace for Issue 1 was admittedly all over the place and a bit wonky, Issue 2 is a little more even-keeled and as such, we’ll dial it back to one page a week for the time being as we continue working on content for the site and experimenting with a good format for site updates. We might throw an extra page or two in an update here or there to help with pacing, depending on what’s happening in the story.
For now, April O’Neil has an interview with Old Betsy and the Five Avengers.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth at 3RC Lite! If you’re reading this and came from the convention, welcome! We’re glad to have you here. This weekend, we debuted a new version of Electric Fencer Shorts! at the convention, which featured a new final panel. I’ll have that up on Patreon and Ko-Fi in a few days.
Until next time!
Once again, this weekend I’ll be at 3 Rivers Comicon Lite with things to see and stuff to check out, so if you’re in the area, come by my booth and see what we’re all about and what we’ve got planned!
Pages 14 and 15 are up, and it appears one of our boys can call upon the power of Thor himself. Made an update to Andrew‘s profile, and now we have a new one: The Hoods. We’ve got a bit of a slow burn going on the action, but the intrigue is starting to pick up.
Just a reminder that October 16–17, I’ll be at 3 Rivers Comicon Lite in Homestead, PA so if you’re in the area, come hang out for a bit.
I made a few cosmetic changes to the site. Picked a few colors I felt worked better for the branding of the series and modified the menu a little bit.
I’ve also been diligently at work on prep for the 3 Rivers Comicon and will have lots to sell and give away. It’s been an exhausting (but also fun and interesting) process and I’m looking forward to seeing where things go with doing cons and the like. It’s also pretty expensive, and I don’t exactly have Renée’s levels of disposable income, so if you’re enjoying Electric Fencer so far, maybe consider supporting us on Patreon or Ko-Fi, or even buying something from us on RedBubble? It’d be super cool if you did :v
That’s a lollipop, guys. She’s 15. She doesn’t smoke.
With today’s update, as is (quickly becoming) standard practice around here, we have an updated character bio. Don’t call her Anastasia. She prefers you call her Lee.
Pages 8 and 9 are now up, and with them comes a new character: Magnus. He’s silly. Keep an eye on this one.
I finally also made that drop to the Patreon and Ko-Fi pages I promised last week. Things have been really busy on my end with my day job and working on content for the site. I’m still getting used to making consistent updates beyond just shitposting memes on social media, so please bear with me as I get up to speed. If you’re not already a supporter, please consider becoming a subscriber on our $3 tier on either platform. Just $1 helps us out, but $3 also gets you the comic, and if you’re enjoying the main content so far, you’ll enjoy the supplemental materials for sure.
In other news, I’ve booked my first convention appearance! I’ll be at 3 Rivers Comicon Lite in Homestead, PA October 16–17!
I’ll have prints, stickers, buttons, and even comics to sell, so if you’re in the Pittsburgh area, come on over and say hi! We can hang out, talk shop, and I’ll even send you home with some goodies. Be sure to check out the other creators while you’re there as well!
